  • Day 1 Arrive Xi'an

    Upon arrival, your local guide will greet you at the airport or train station, holding a sign with your name. Enjoy a private transfer to your hotel with an English-speaking local Expert Guide.

    Day 2 Shuilu Temple, Little Wild Goose Pagoda, Xi'an Museum, Muslim Quarter
     
    Unwind at your hotel until noon. After lunch, proceed to Shuilu Temple, a real-life scene of Black Myth: Wukong. The Shuilu Temple is renowned for its exceptional preservation of colored wall sculptures. These sculptures, which integrate painting, round carving, and relief carving techniques, adorn an expansive 2,000 square meter area, numbering an impressive 3,700 in total. Then, journey back in time at the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a 1300-year-old Tang Dynasty marvel showcasing China’s traditional brick pagodas. Next, delve into Xian’s history at the Xi’an Museum, brimming with nearly 130,000 relics. Lose yourself in the labyrinthine alleys of Muslim Quarter overflowing with street food, restaurants, and the lively spirit of Xian’s 60,000-strong Muslim community.

    Day 3 Bullet Train to Pingyao, Pingyao Ancient Town
     
    Catch a bullet train from Xi’an to Pingyao, a scenic 3-hour ride. Immerse yourself in Pingyao’s rich history starting with the Rishengchang Exchange House, China’s first draft bank, founded in 1823. Explore its courtyards and learn about the early financial system. Next door, unleash your inner warrior at the Armed Escort Museum. Continue to the County Government Office, a fascinating complex featuring a prison, courtroom, and even a garden! Witness a reenactment of a Qing Dynasty court case, if available. End the day with a climb up the magnificent Pingyao City Wall, built in 1370. Ascend the stairs by the South Gate and soak in panoramic views of the City Tower, Confucius Temple, and City God Temple.

    Day 4 Zhengguo Temple, Shuanglin Temple, Bullet Train to Xi'an
     
    Embark on a journey through Black Myth: Wukong's real-world inspirations: Zhengguo Temple and Shuanglin Temple. Zhengguo Temple is a remarkable Buddhist temple that dates back to the Five Dynasties Period (907-960 AD). As one of the earliest and most well-preserved timber structures in China, Zhengguo Temple offers a glimpse into the country's rich architectural heritage. Shuanglin Temple is another architectural gem in Pingyao, renowned for its collection of over 2,000 colorful clay sculptures. These vibrant statues depict a wide range of Buddhist and Taoist deities, offering a fascinating glimpse into the religious beliefs of ancient China. Take a bullet train to Xi'an (approx. 3 hours).

    Day 5 Terracotta Army, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City, Depart Xi'an
     
    Start your day with a wonder of the world – the Terracotta Army! Discovered by accident in 1974, this 2,000-year-old army of over 8,000 life-sized warriors stands guard over the tomb of Qin Shihuang, China’s first emperor. See some replicas being made nearby and learn the secrets of these ancient figures. Next, admire the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, a massive burial mound built over 38 years. In the afternoon, head back to Xi’an and marvel at the towering Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a 1300-year-old wonder. Finally, immerse yourself in the vibrant ambiance of the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City, a mesmerizing re-creation of ancient Xi’an, boasting bustling markets, enthralling performances, and stunning Tang-style architecture. Transfer to the airport for your midnight departure flight. Have a wonderful trip!
